Note: Lofty is rolling out in stages. Depending on the version your account is on, some features or screens described in this article may look different or may not yet be available to you.
Introduction
Lofty monitors and optimizes the indexing status of all active Company, Team, and Agent websites using Google Search Console (GSC). To do this, Lofty adds a Lofty-owned GSC account as an owner of your website in Google's system.
This article explains what that means, what Lofty does with that access, and how to remove it if you prefer.
What Happens
When Lofty adds your site to Google Search Console, you will receive an email from Google with the subject line "New Owner Notice."
This email informs you that an account with the format siteanalytics#number#@lofty.com has been added as an owner of your website in GSC.
This is expected behavior — it is Lofty performing SEO monitoring on your behalf.
What Lofty Uses This Access For
Lofty uses GSC owner access to:
- Monitor indexing status — identify which pages of your site are indexed and which are not
- Resolve indexing issues — prioritize fixes for sites with no traffic, then optimize for overall traffic improvement
- Provide faster support — if your site has indexing errors visible in GSC, Lofty can quickly identify and help resolve them without needing you to share a screenshot
Lofty will not make any unauthorized changes to your website. Lofty does not own your domain and will not modify your site without your explicit permission.
How to Remove Lofty's Access
If you prefer that Lofty not have owner access to your site in Google Search Console:
- Log in to Google Search Console
- Select your website property
- Go to Settings
- Click Users and Permissions
- Find the Lofty account:
siteanalytics#number#@lofty.com - Click the remove icon next to that account
Removing Lofty's access means Lofty will no longer be able to proactively monitor your site's indexing status or provide direct GSC-based support.
Tips
- Don't remove Lofty's access unless you have a specific reason. The access is read-only for monitoring purposes — Lofty uses it to help keep your site healthy, not to make changes.
- Connect your own GSC account too. In addition to Lofty's monitoring account, you should connect your own Google Search Console property so you can view your site's performance data yourself. See [Using the SEO Tool] for how to connect your own GSC from within the CMS.
