Vanity Domain Purchase (Lofty AOS)

Introduction

If you don't have a custom domain yet, you can purchase one directly through Lofty. When you buy a domain through Lofty, the DNS and SSL configuration happen automatically — no technical setup required on your part.

Your website will appear at yourname.lofty.com until you connect a custom domain.

Where to Purchase

There are two places to find the domain purchase option:

Option 1 — In the CMS: The Vanity Domain Setup page in your CMS. Option 2 — Lofty Marketplace: Marketplace > Branding and Marketing > Vanity Domain Website.

How to Purchase

1. Click the domain purchase option from either location above.
2. Review the overview page and click Get a domain to continue.
3. Type the domain name you want in the search field and click Search.
4. Browse the available options. Each suggestion shows the annual registration fee (prices vary by domain extension). Click Show more results to see additional options.
5. Select the domain you want to purchase.
6. Review the cost summary. If you don't have a payment card on file, you can add one at this step.
7. Click Place Order.

After placing your order, you'll see a confirmation message:

After Purchase

Once the purchase completes successfully, you'll receive a confirmation email. The following happen automatically:

• DNS configuration is completed
• SSL certificate is installed
• Your sending email address is automatically updated to match your new domain (e.g., you@yourdomain.com)

You can then access your site through the new domain and manage it in the CMS.

Pricing

Annual Domain Registration Fee — Varies by domain extension. This fee is passed directly from the domain provider (AWS) to you. The cost depends on whether you choose a common extension (.com, .net, .realtor) or a specialty one.

Monthly Hosting Fee — $5/month. This is Lofty's fee to host the domain, integrate it with the Lofty platform, and support email traffic.

Free Domain Options

If you're setting up your site for the first time, free domain options (at .net) may be available. Important notes about free domains:

• Free domains cannot be transferred out if you cancel your Lofty subscription — they stay with Lofty.
• Paid domains can be transferred to another provider if you leave Lofty.
• You only get one opportunity to select a free domain.

Important Notes

Purchases are not refundable. Domains are purchased from a third-party provider (AWS) and cannot be returned.

External email providers are not supported. If you purchase a domain through Lofty, you can only use it for email within the Lofty platform. You cannot use Lofty-purchased domains with external email providers like Gmail or Outlook.

Payment failure handling: If your payment fails, Lofty may still purchase the domain on your behalf. You'll receive an email with next steps and will need to resolve the payment issue by contacting support.

Tips

• Choose a paid domain if portability matters to you. Free domains are convenient but not portable — if you ever need to leave Lofty, you'd need to register a new domain.
• Keep it short and brandable. A shorter domain is easier to remember, type, and fit on business cards.
• .com is still the best choice for most real estate professionals. It carries the most credibility with homebuyers and sellers.
