Introduction
Lofty manages four types of MLS application processes: Agreement, Instruction, Online, and Vendor. These processes are designed to streamline your MLS applications and provide you with updates on their progress, as each MLS processes their application differently. Depending on the MLS you are applying to, you will go through one of the four processes.
Agreement
This article covers the Agreement process, which begins when you submit an MLS application in the CMS. The agreement is a document that outlines the terms and conditions between you (the agent and broker) and the MLS. To move forward with your application, both you and your broker need to sign this agreement.
Once you submit an MLS application in the CMS, you will go through the following four (4) stages:
1. Sign the MLS Agreement
Once you submit your MLS application, both you (the agent) and your broker must sign the MLS agreement for your application to proceed.
For Agents: You will receive a link to electronically sign the MLS agreement via email. You may also see a "Sign Here" button in your CMS. Simply click the link, review the document, and sign it.
For Brokers: Simultaneously, your broker will also receive a link to sign the agreement. Once both parties have signed, the agreement is complete and the application will proceed to the next stage.
2. Lofty Reviews the Agreement
After both parties sign the agreement, Lofty will review the document to ensure everything is accurate and ready for submission to the MLS.
Estimated Time: This process typically takes about two (2) business days.
What Happens: Lofty verifies the agreement and checks for any issues. If everything is in order, the agreement is submitted to the MLS for review. If more information is needed, Lofty will reach out to you for clarification.
What You Can Do:
- If the application is pending at this stage for over two (2) business days, click the "Request Update" button in the CMS to notify our MLS Support Team.
- Our Support team will prioritize your request and address it as soon as possible.
3. MLS Reviews the Agreement
Once Lofty submits the signed agreement to the MLS, the MLS will review it to ensure it complies with their standards.
Estimated Time: This review usually takes two (2) business days, though timelines may vary by MLS board.
What Happens:
- The MLS reviews your application, which may include website compliance checks.
- If approved, your application status will update to "MLS Approved."
- If there are any issues, Lofty will notify you with next steps.
What You Can Do:
- If the application is pending at this stage for over two (2) business days, click "Request Update" in the CMS.
- Our MLS Support Team will contact the MLS directly to confirm the status and provide you with an update.
4. Data Integration
Once the MLS approves your agreement, we will begin integrating the listing data into your CMS.
Estimated Time: This process typically completes within one (1) business day after MLS approval and may take up to ten (10) business days for new MLSs.
