Introduction
Connecting your Facebook Page lets the Sales Agent automatically respond to Messenger conversations, capture leads, and log them in your CRM. This takes about 5 minutes.
Before you start
- You must be an Admin of the Facebook Page you want to connect (not just an Editor or Moderator).
- The Sales Agent connects to one Page at a time.
- Make sure the Page you want to use already exists and has at least a name and profile photo. Brand-new, empty Pages sometimes don't appear in the selection list.
- Recommended: use a Chrome Incognito window with only the correct Facebook account logged in. Ad-blocking and privacy browser extensions can prevent the Facebook authorization popup from loading the Page list.
Instructions
Step 1 — Start the connection from the Sales Agent
In your CRM, go to Sales Agent → Settings → Enrollment, scroll to the Integration section, expand Facebook Channel, and click Continue with Facebook.
Step 2 — Log into Facebook
Log into the Facebook account that manages your Page. If you're already logged in, confirm it's the correct account (top-right corner of the popup).
Step 3 — Choose the Business
On the "Choose the Businesses you want Lofty Chatbot to access" screen, select Opt in to all current and future Businesses, then click Continue. This avoids the Page being excluded due to Business-level permissions.
Step 4 — Choose the Page
On the "Choose the Pages you want Lofty Chatbot to access" screen:
- Select Opt in to current Pages only (or all current and future Pages).
- Check the box next to the Page you want to connect. Make sure this is your business Page, not a test Page.
- Click Continue.
If your Page isn't listed here, it usually means you're not an Admin of it, you're logged into the wrong account, or the Page is empty — fix that and retry.
Step 5 — Grant all permissions
On the "What is Lofty Chatbot allowed to do?" screen, turn ALL toggles to YES:
- Manage call to action on your Pages
- Manage and access Page conversations in Messenger
- Show a list of the Pages you manage
- Read content posted on the Page
⚠️ If any toggle is left off, the connection will fail. Turn them all on, then click Done.
Step 6 — Verify the connection in the CRM
Back in Sales Agent → Settings → Enrollment → Facebook Channel, you should now see your Page under Facebook Messenger Settings with:
- The correct Facebook Page Name
- A Connected On date
- The Active toggle switched on
Set a Greeting Text (shown to visitors before they message you — you can use variables like {{user_first_name}}) and click Save.
You can also copy Your Messenger URL (m.me/…) to share on flyers, emails, or texts.
Step 7 — Test it
From a different Facebook account (or ask a colleague), send a Messenger message to your Page. Confirm the Sales Agent replies automatically and the lead appears in your CRM.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Fix |
| Page doesn't appear in the selection list | Confirm you're an Admin, logged into the right account, and the Page isn't empty. Add a name/photo and retry. |
| Authorization popup is blank or won't load Pages | Disable ad-block/privacy extensions, or use an Incognito window. |
| Connected but no auto-replies | Check the Active toggle is on in the CRM, and that all four Facebook permissions were set to YES. Reconnect if needed. |
| Wrong Page connected | Click Disconnect, then repeat from Step 1 and select the correct Page. |
| Need to re-authorize | Facebook → Settings → Business Integrations → Active, remove Lofty Chatbot, then reconnect from the CRM. |
