Introduction
Sales Agent has evolved. Rather than configuring a generic AI tool, you now hire a Digital Employee — a named AI specialist with a defined role, skill set, and follow-up strategy tailored to the types of leads you work with most.
You can choose from three pre-built agents or build your own from scratch. Once hired, your Digital Employee goes to work immediately: engaging new leads, sending follow-ups, and keeping your pipeline moving — without you having to lift a finger.
Meet Your Digital Employees
Three specialized agents are available in the Marketplace. Each one is designed around a different lead type and follow-up focus:

Getting Started
Step 1: Open the Sales Agent Marketplace
Navigate to Sales Agent in your Lofty account. If you have not yet hired an agent, you will land on the Marketplace — a page displaying the three available Digital Employees, plus a Build Your Own option.
Each agent card shows the agent's name, role, and a short description. Hover over any card to see the agent's first-person pitch and a list of their skill tags.
Step 2: View an Agent Profile
Click any agent card to open their full Agent Profile. This page gives you everything you need to evaluate whether the agent is the right fit before committing.
Left panel:
- Agent name, role, and supported communication channels (Email, Text/SMS, Website Chat)
- Key performance stats
- A Hire button
- Your available follow-up quota (shown before hiring)
- A count of how many other agents have hired this Digital Employee
Right panel:
- About — a description of the agent's approach and methodology
- Skills — a list of specific capabilities the agent uses during follow-up
Step 3: Hire Your Agent
When you are ready, click Hire on the Agent Profile page. A brief deployment sequence will run, confirming your agent is fully configured and connected:

The entire process takes about 4 seconds. Once complete, your agent's follow-up quota is activated and you are taken to the Overview page where you can monitor activity.
Build Your Own Agent
Prefer a fully customized approach? Select Build Your Own from the Marketplace to create an agent tailored to your specific communication style and business needs.
You will define:
- Agent name — give your agent a name that feels right for your brand
- Description — this becomes the agent's persona and guides how it communicates with leads
- Channels — choose which of Email, Text/SMS, and Website Chat your agent uses (all three are enabled by default)
Click Create & Hire Agent to launch the same deployment flow as the pre-built agents. Your custom agent will be ready in seconds.

Understanding Auto-Enrollment
Each pre-built agent comes pre-configured with a default Auto-Enrollment setting that determines which new leads are automatically enrolled for AI follow-up after hiring.
- Anna enrolls all new leads — Buyer, Seller, Renter, and Other.
- Lucas enrolls Buyer leads only.
- Lily enrolls Seller leads only.
You can adjust these defaults at any time in your agent's Settings after hiring. Auto-enrollment only applies to new leads created after your agent is hired — existing leads are not automatically enrolled.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I hire more than one agent?
Currently, one Digital Employee can be active at a time. If you hire a different agent, it replaces your current one. Your previous agent's settings and activity history are preserved.
What communication channels does my agent use?
By default, all three channels are active: Email, Text/SMS, and Website Chat. You can adjust which channels are enabled in your agent's Settings at any time after hiring.
Is my agent active immediately after hiring?
Yes. Once the 4-second deployment completes, your agent is live and will begin engaging newly enrolled leads right away.
What is the follow-up quota?
Your quota determines how many AI-powered follow-ups your agent can send per billing period. The quota amount shown on the Agent Profile reflects your current plan. Freemium accounts include 10 free follow-ups. Paid plan quotas vary by bundle.
Can I edit my agent's settings after hiring?
Yes. After hiring, you can update your agent's name, description, channels, and Auto-Enrollment defaults from the Settings page within Sales Agent.
