Organizing Leads with Tags (Lofty AOS)

Introduction

Tags are free-form labels you attach to leads so you can group them by anything that matters to your business — the event where you met, a property they liked, or a status such as "Do Not Contact." Unlike a pipeline stage (a lead sits in exactly one stage), a lead can carry as many tags as you need. Once leads are tagged you can filter the People list by tag and build segments from them.

Where Tags Appear

On the People list, the Tags column shows each lead's current tags as small chips (for example, KY or Buyer), with a +N badge when there are more than fit. Below the chips is a + Tag button for editing that lead's tags.

Adding Tags from the People List

1. Find the lead's row and click + Tag in the Tags column.
2. The Change Tags dialog opens with a searchable list of every tag in your account.
3. Check one or more tags to apply them (use Search for a tag to narrow a long list).
4. Click Save.

Creating a New Tag

You can create a tag on the fly from the same dialog:

1. In Search for a tag, type the name of the tag you want.
2. If it doesn't already exist, a + Create Tag "<name>" option appears below the box.
3. Click it, then click Save — the tag is created and applied to the lead in one step.

Using Tags to Find and Group Leads

• Open All Filters on the People list to narrow it to leads carrying a specific tag.
• Tags can drive Segment membership, so a well-tagged database lets you build targeted lists for campaigns. See Working with Segments.
