Note: Lofty is rolling out in stages. Depending on the version your account is on, some features or screens described in this article may look different or may not yet be available to you.
Introduction
A segment groups the leads that match criteria you choose, so you can target them together in campaigns, reminders, and reporting. Clicking Add Segment opens a full-page builder where you stack filters, watch the matching leads update live, and can ask the AI Assistant for help along the way.
Opening the Segment Builder
- In the left menu, go to CRM → Segments.
- Click Add Segment in the top-right corner.
The builder replaces the Segments list. The new segment starts with a placeholder name — “Unnamed list” plus the current date and time — with Save Segment in the top-right corner and 3 working areas: the All Filters panel, the lead preview in the middle, and the AI Assistant on the right.
Building the Segment with Filters
- In the All Filters panel, click a filter’s name to expand it — for example, Lead Type.
- Set the condition. Lead Type pairs an operator — Equals To, Include all, or Include one of — with a value list.
- Click Select Something... and check 1 or more values. For Lead Type the options are Buyer, Seller, Renter, Investor, Agent, Homeowner, Landlord, and Other.
Once a filter has a value, a green check mark appears next to its name and a filter count (for example, 1 Filter) appears beside All Filters. Each filter brings its own controls:
- Lead Owner pairs is any of or is not any of with a team-member picker, organized by Agent and Office.
- Filter by Address is a location search box.
- Pipeline offers a Select Pipeline list.
- Tags combines Include and One of operators with a Select Tags list.
- Last Touch chooses between Contacted and Not Contacted, with a Custom Date Range for the time window; date filters such as Reg Date take a Custom Date Range too.
Tip: The list of filters is long — type in the Search filters name box to jump straight to the one you need.
Note: The available filters mirror your account’s setup. Team roles and your custom fields appear alongside the standard filters, so your list can differ from the screenshots.
Previewing Matching Leads
The middle pane shows who the segment would contain right now:
- Before any criteria are set, it reads “This Segment does not contain any leads.”
- As soon as a filter applies, the matching leads load in a grid with columns such as Name, Tags, Agent, Communications, Inquiries, and Lead Score, with a pager at the bottom.
Using the AI Assistant
The AI Assistant panel on the right can help you find the right filters and build the segment — when you are satisfied with its suggestions, you can add them to the segment for further editing. Click one of the suggested prompts (for example, “Hot leads back to site”) or type your own request in the Ask me anything box.
Saving the Segment
- Review the filter count next to All Filters and the leads in the preview.
- Click Save Segment in the top-right corner.
Note: To leave the builder without saving, click the back arrow to the left of the segment’s name — the unsaved segment is discarded and nothing appears in your Segments list.
For what the columns on the Segments list mean once your segment is saved, see Working with Segments.
