Note: Lofty is rolling out in stages. Depending on the version your account is on, some features or screens described in this article may look different or may not yet be available to you.
Introduction
The registration pop-up trigger rule controls exactly when the pop-up appears to a visitor on your website. Triggering too early loses visitors who haven't engaged yet; triggering too late means they've already found what they need without registering.
Lofty offers two data-backed presets and a custom option so you can match your lead strategy.
How to Access the Trigger Rule
In the CMS, go to Settings > Lead Capture > Registration Pop-up Trigger Rule.
Choosing Your Trigger Strategy
Three options are available. Select the one that matches your goals.
Higher Conversion (Recommended)
Based on data from Lofty-built websites, this setting triggers the pop-up earlier in a visitor's session — when they've shown enough interest but haven't yet found everything they need. The result is typically more leads captured at the cost of some lead quality.
Best for: Agents and teams focused on maximizing lead volume.
Higher Quality
This option gives visitors more browsing time before the pop-up appears. Visitors who do register have shown more intent, resulting in higher quality leads — but fewer of them.
Best for: Agents who prefer fewer, warmer leads over high volume.
Custom
Build your own trigger rule by setting specific criteria.
Tips
- Start with Higher Conversion, then evaluate. Give either preset at least 30 days before comparing lead volume and quality in your CRM. Data beats guesswork.
- Consider your traffic source. Visitors from paid ads are often less patient — a quicker trigger works better. Organic search visitors tend to explore more, so a slightly delayed trigger (Higher Quality) may perform better.
