Introduction
Lofty has a direct integration with DNC.com (also known as Contact Center Compliance) that you can utilize to to connect the National DNC, state DNCs, and known litigator lists into the Lofty platform. In order to do so, you must meet both of these requirements:
- You must have a SAN generated by the National Do Not Call Registry. You can learn more about this here: https://telemarketing.donotcall.gov/ . You will need this before subscribing to DNC.com.
- You must have a separate subscription with DNC.com. Schedule an appointment with them or review their website to learn more. DNC.com will provide you with a certain number of "scrubs" and these will be utilized in Lofty to scrub phone numbers (see details below for how it works).
*IMPORTANT: All the information shared in this article represents product functionality information only. This is not legal advice. You must obtain your own legal advice regarding all federal and local laws/regulations for call and text compliance.

DNC.com Integration Settings
To integrate your DNC.com account with Lofty, click 'Connect' on the integrations or marketplace page:
Here, you will need to provide your DNC.com account name, API key, and the Project ID. Note, the Project ID is only required if you want to link a specific project. If this field is left empty, your master project will be configured.
Once you have finished integrating your DNC.com account with Lofty, you will be asked to choose how you would like DNC.com results codes to behave in Lofty. The DNC.com integration with Lofty will return a status code when a number is checked. Please contact support@dnc.com regarding any questions for these status codes.
When the 'Safe' toggle is turned ON for a specific status, Lofty will NOT warn you prior to calling or texting these numbers because it has been marked as "safe."
You can edit these preferences at any time by selecting "Configure DNC.com settings"
How the Integration Works
Once integrated, a "DNC.com Status" will be listed with every phone number (see screenshot below). This will provide the status returned by DNC.com, but only if the number has been checked. It will also list the last time that status is updated.
For any call or text you are making to a phone number in your system with the status of "Unknown Consent," the DNC.com integration will process a "scrub" to determine if there are any results from DNC.com that you want to be aware of. All other statuses representing consent received (System Recorded Consent, User Recorded Consent, Business Relationship) will not trigger the DNC.com scrub.
If the phone number has been scrubbed already within the last 30 days, it will not be scrubbed again if you are trying to make a phone call or send a text. The system will check the "Last Updated" field to check this. Most DNC lists must be checked every 30 days for any changes which is why this logic exists.
If the status returned from DNC.com is considered 'unsafe,' Lofty will present you with a warning. One example can be seen in the following screenshot. You can still choose to proceed with the call/text but should pay attention to the warning and how it applies to your situation before doing so.
If a phone number has been determined by the integration to be 'unsafe,' all Smart Plan (or other) auto texts in the Lofty platform will be converted into manual text tasks for manual review to avoid automated texts being sent to someone on a DNC list.
Internal DNC List Sync
Lofty will automatically sync your Internal DNC list to your DNC.com project. Important note - only numbers with a +1 country code will be synced.
Best Practices During a Government Shutdown
During a government shutdown, the FTC may not be actively maintaining the federal Do Not Call Registry. Outlined below are some best practice compliance steps you can take to protect yourself.
1. Continue scrubbing against the most recent national DNC data available
- Use your last updated FTC registry file from before the outage.
- Maintain integration with DNC.com so you still remove known DNC numbers.
2. Scrub against state-specific DNC lists as usual
- State registries remain operational unless separately affected.
- Many state lists include additional DNC numbers not in the federal list.
3. Honor your internal DNC list
- Always suppress numbers where the lead has directly opted out with you, regardless of national or state database access.
4. Apply extra caution with cold prospecting
- If your risk tolerance is low, consider limiting calls to only those who have consented to be contacted by you.
5. Document compliance actions during the outage
- Keep records showing you scrubbed with the most recent available data from the FTC.
- Note dates of your last download and any operational limitations caused by the shutdown.
- Maintain calling logs and suppression reports.
6. Monitor for FTC service restoration
- As soon as the FTC DNC Registry comes back online, update your data immediately.
- Refresh integrations with the new copy to catch any numbers registered during the outage period.
7. Train calling staff on modified compliance rules during the shutdown
- Explain that new leads may have registered but are not yet in your suppression lists.
- Reinforce opt-out handling and prompt honoring of any DNC requests received live.
Bottom line:
You can keep running your scrubs via DNC.com integrations using the last available dataset, but you should treat the outage as a heightened-risk period and tighten calling criteria until the national list is refreshed.
