Choosing and Changing Your Website Template (Lofty AOS)

Introduction

Your website template controls the overall layout and visual structure of your site — how pages, headers, listing cards, and blocks are arranged. Lofty offers 33 mobile-friendly templates, each designed to load quickly and work well for real estate. You can change your template at any time without losing your content.

Before You Begin

• Changing a template applies to your entire website, not just one page.
• After switching, some individual block styles may need to be adjusted to look their best.
• Only default templates can be selected. Switching to a custom template is not supported.
• Full SEO website owners have full template access. Agent Website and Vanity Domain site owners may have limited options depending on their permissions.

How to Change Your Website Template

1. Open the Website CMS (from the Lofty top nav, click Content > Websites, then click your site).
2. In the page editor, click Style in the left navigation.
3. Select Template from the Style menu.
4. Browse the available templates. Click any template name to preview it — the preview on the right updates immediately so you can see how it looks across your pages.
5. Switch between pages in the preview to see how the template applies to different page types.
6. When you are happy with your choice, click Publish in the top-right corner to apply the template to your live website.

Lofty currently offers 33 templates. You can preview any of them before committing:

Tips

• Preview on multiple pages. After selecting a template, click through your Home, About, and a listing search page to make sure the layout works across your whole site — not just the home page.
• Adjust blocks after switching. A new template may change the spacing, color, or style of individual blocks. After publishing, review your pages and tweak any block styles that need adjusting.
• Your content stays. Switching templates changes the layout and design, not your text, images, or listings. Your content carries over.
• Start fresh websites with the right template. It is always easier to pick your template before adding a lot of custom content. If you are setting up a new site, choose your template first.

Troubleshooting

The template I selected looks different on my live site than in the preview. Make sure you clicked Publish after selecting the template. Changes only appear on your live site after publishing. If you published and the live site still looks different, try clearing your browser cache and reloading.

Some of my blocks look off after switching templates. This is expected. Templates control overall layout, and some individual block styles (colors, padding, fonts) may need to be manually adjusted after a switch. Go into each affected block and update its settings.

I can't find a template I saw before. Lofty updates the template library periodically. If a template is no longer listed, it may have been removed. Contact Lofty Support for help selecting an alternative.

I want to use a custom template. Switching to a custom template is not currently supported from this screen. Company Owners and Admins can create and manage custom templates through the Website Template Library — see [Website Template Library (Admin)] for details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will changing my template delete my content? No. Your pages, text, images, blog posts, and listings are not affected by a template change. Only the layout and visual structure change.

Can I preview a template before applying it? Yes. When you click a template name in the Style panel, the preview updates instantly on the right side. You can browse as many templates as you like without affecting your live site — changes only go live when you click Publish.

Can I switch back to my old template after publishing? Yes. Go back to Style > Template, select your previous template, and publish again.

How many templates are available? 33 templates are currently available. Lofty may add new templates over time.

Does changing the template affect my mobile site? All Lofty templates are mobile-friendly and responsive. Selecting a new template will apply across both desktop and mobile views.
