Working with Blocks in the Page Editor (Lofty AOS)

Introduction

Every page on your Lofty website is made up of blocks — individual content sections that you drag, arrange, and edit to build the page layout you want. The block library contains 20+ block types covering everything from hero images and listings to agent profiles, contact forms, and videos.

You can add as many blocks as you need to any page, in any order, and customize each one independently.

Before You Begin

• Block editing takes place inside the Page Editor in the CMS. Open it from the Lofty top nav: Content > Websites, then click your site.
• Select the page you want to edit from the Pages panel before working with blocks.
• Copy and custom block features are only available on Full SEO websites — not on subdomain (Agent Website) sites.
• Click Publish in the top-right corner to make all block changes live on your website.

Adding a Block

1. In the page editor, click Blocks in the left navigation to open the block library.
2. Browse the available block types. Each type offers multiple styles to choose from.
3. Find the block you want. Click the style variation you prefer.
4. Drag the block to the right side of the editor and drop it in the position you want on the page.
5. Click Publish when you're ready to make the change live.

Editing a Block

To edit a block's content (title, image, text, settings):

1. Double-click the block on the page canvas, or hover over the block and click the Edit icon that appears in the top-right corner of the block.
2. The block's settings panel opens, showing all editable fields for that block type.
3. Make your changes.
4. Click Publish to apply changes to your live site.

Moving / Reordering Blocks

To reorder blocks on a page, use either method:

Drag and drop: Click and hold a block until it highlights, then drag it to the new position on the page.

Three-lines icon: Click the ≡ (three-lines) icon on the block and drag it to the desired position.

Removing a Block

1. Hover over the block you want to delete.
2. Click the Trash Can icon that appears in the top-right corner of the block.
3. Confirm the deletion.
4. Click Publish to apply the change.

Copying a Block

Some blocks can be copied and pasted. A copied block is duplicated in place and pasted directly below the original.

This feature is only available on Full SEO websites — not on subdomain (Agent Website) sites.

Blocks that can be copied: Agent, Banner, Content, CTA, Embed, Form, Gallery, Team, Video

To copy a block: 1. Hover over the block. 2. Click the ... icon next to the other block action icons. 3. Select Copy, then click Paste to place the duplicate below.

Creating Custom Blocks

A custom block is a block you've edited and saved so it can be reused across pages without re-configuring it each time.

This feature is only available on websites built from a custom template. If your site uses one of Lofty's default templates, the custom block option will not appear.

To create a custom block: 1. Add a block to your page and edit it as needed. 2. Hover over the block and click the ... icon. 3. Select Custom to save this block configuration. 4. Your custom block appears at the top of the Block Library under a Custom section, ready to drag onto any page.

Previewing Your Changes

Desktop and mobile preview

Toggle between the desktop and mobile view using the view toggle in the page editor. This shows how your page layout looks on different screen sizes before you publish.

Full page preview

Click the Preview button to open a new browser tab showing the full page as a live visitor would see it — including any button interactions and pop-ups that the in-editor view doesn't trigger.

Publishing Changes

After any block action — adding, editing, moving, removing, or copying — click Publish in the top-right corner of the page editor for the changes to go live on your website.

Tips

• Start with the layout, then fill in content. Drag all your blocks into position first, then go block by block to add your text, images, and settings. It's faster than fully configuring one block before adding the next.
• Preview on mobile. Real estate customers often search on phones. Use the mobile view toggle to check your layout before publishing.
• Save a version before big changes. If you're significantly restructuring a page's blocks, save a website version first. See [Saving and Restoring Website Versions].
• Unfilled fields don't show. Many blocks hide fields that are left empty — you don't need to fill in everything for the block to look clean.
• Use custom blocks for repeated sections. If you use the same agent bio or CTA section across multiple pages, save it as a custom block to apply it instantly.

Troubleshooting

I can't find the block type I need. Browse all block types in the Block Library panel. If a specific block type isn't listed, it may not be available on your website package or template type.

The Copy / Custom option isn't appearing in the ... menu. Copy and custom blocks are only available on Full SEO websites built from a custom template. Agent Websites and subdomain sites do not have access to these features.

My block changes aren't showing on the live site. Make sure you clicked Publish after making changes. Edits to blocks are saved to a draft and are not live until published.

A block looks different on mobile than on desktop. Use the view toggle in the editor to check the mobile layout and adjust block settings or spacing as needed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I add the same block type more than once on a page? Yes. You can add as many instances of any block type as you want to a single page.

Can I move a block from one page to another? Not directly. You would need to delete the block from one page and re-add and configure it on the other. If it's a custom block, you can drag it from the Custom section of the Block Library onto any page.

Do block changes affect all pages at once? No. Block edits are per-page. Changes to a block on one page do not affect the same block type on other pages.

What's the difference between a block style and a custom block? A block style is a visual variation of the same block type (different layout, color scheme). A custom block is a specific block you have configured and saved for reuse — it remembers your content and settings.
