Search Bar Block / Quick Search Block (Lofty AOS)

Introduction

Lofty offers two property search blocks for your website:

• Search Bar Block — A full-width property search bar, typically placed prominently at the top of a Listings or Home page.
• Quick Search Block — A compact, lightweight search widget for embedding a search shortcut in sidebars, CTAs, or smaller page sections.

Both blocks allow visitors to search your MLS listings directly from any page.

Before You Begin

Your MLS must be connected to your website before property search blocks will return results. See [How to Connect Your MLS to Your IDX Website].

Adding a Search Block

1. Open the Website CMS (from Lofty top nav: Content > Websites, then click your site).
2. Select the page you want to edit.
3. Click Blocks in the left navigation.
4. Find either Search Bar or Quick Search in the block library. Choose your preferred style.
5. Drag the block to the position you want on the page.

Configuring the Search Block

Double-click the block or click the Edit icon to open settings.

Search Bar Block settings : - Default search filters displayed (location, property type, price range, beds/baths) - Search button label and style - Results page destination

Quick Search Block settings : - Compact filter options - Layout and sizing

After configuring, click Publish to go live.

Tips

• Place the Search Bar on your Home and Listings pages. These are the pages visitors most expect to search from — make it easy to find.
• Use Quick Search in CTAs and sidebars. When you want search functionality without taking up a lot of vertical space, the Quick Search Block is the right choice.

Troubleshooting

The search bar returns no results. Confirm your MLS is connected. See [How to Connect Your MLS to Your IDX Website]. Also check your [Global Listing Filters] to ensure listings aren't being excluded.
