Overview of What’s New
The previous Smart Plan builder used a multi‑step, segmented setup process. The new builder introduces a visual, flow‑based canvas, giving you:
- A faster, streamlined setup
- A clear view of how your automation works
- More control over timing and branching logic
- Enhanced triggers and new condition types
Creating a Smart Plan
New Creation Experience
When starting a new Smart Plan, you have two options:
- Start From Scratch: Build your plan step‑by‑step on the flow canvas.
- Start From a Template: Choose from pre‑built templates and customize as needed.
After choosing your starting point, you simply select a plan scope, then you are taken directly into the visual canvas to begin building. This eliminates the old multi‑step setup process and gets you into the builder immediately.
Smart Plan Settings Panel
The redesigned Settings Panel makes plan configuration faster and more intuitive.
What’s New
- Expandable and collapsible panel for easier navigation.
- Ability to:
- Rename the Smart Plan (a default name is provided automatically)
- Adjust plan scope
- Select Target Lead Type
- Configure Auto Apply rules
- Configure Auto Pause rules
These changes allow more control in fewer clicks.
Trigger Enhancements
All triggers have been refreshed for clarity and improved logic handling.
They now fall into two main categories:
Lead‑Based Triggers
Examples include:
- Lead Created
- Lead Assignment Changed
- Pipeline or Tag Updated
- Segment Changed
- Contact Permission Changed
- Website Activity
- Lead Meets Specified Criteria
Event or Date‑Based Triggers
- Communication Event (formerly “Instant Interaction”)
- Holidays (e.g., New Year, Christmas, Valentine’s Day)
- Lead Date
- Transaction Date
- Other Dates, including fixed calendar dates
These triggers give you more options to automate communication at exactly the right time.
New Conditional Controls
The new flow introduces powerful condition nodes that replace the timing logic previously embedded inside actions. Actions now run immediately, so all delays and branching behavior must be added through conditions.
Condition: Wait a Period of Time
- Now a dedicated condition block.
- Choose how long the system waits before moving to the next step.
- Existing Smart Plans with built‑in delays will migrate automatically.
Condition: Wait Until a Specific Date
Choose from:
- A specific calendar date
- Lead Date
- Transaction Date
- Holiday
- Day of week or month
- Specific time
This provides precise timing control for important messages.
Condition: Branch (Multi‑Path Logic)
Branching allows your plan to follow different paths based on lead criteria.
Key features:
- Supports AND/OR logic
- Conditions checked in order
- Default “Not Met” branch included
- Enables advanced filtering and personalization
We've provided mappings from older criteria so your existing logic transitions cleanly.
Condition: Wait Until an Event (Advanced)
This condition pauses the plan until a specific event occurs, such as:
- Email Events: opened, replied, bounced
- Text Events: replied
- Call Events: inbound/outbound behaviors
- Lead Meets a Condition: custom criteria with optional fallback timeout
The system can automatically create “Event Met” and “Event Not Met” branches based on what happens.
| Old Criterion | New Field |
|---|---|
| is a first-time home buyer? | First Time Buyer |
| plan to buy in 3 months? | Buying Time Frame: 0–1 & 1–3 |
| pre-qualified? | Pre-qualified |
| has agent? | With Buyer/Selling Agent |
| has property alert? | Property Alert |
| has address? | Mailing Address |
| has lender assigned? | Lender |
| has phone? | Lead Phone |
| has email? | Lead Email |
| already closed? | Has Closed Transaction |
| contacted within last week? | Last Touch (7 days) |
| favorited listings? | Favorited Listings |
| requested home evaluation? | Home Valuation |

| family members? | Family Member |
Actions (What’s Staying the Same)
All existing action types remain available:
- Text
- Call task
- To‑dos
- Assignments
- And more
What’s changed:
- Timing is no longer controlled inside the actions themselves.
- Every action executes immediately when reached in the flow.
- Use conditions to manage delays or scheduling.
Summary
The new Smart Plan flow is designed to:
✔ Simplify plan creation
✔ Provide clearer automation logic
✔ Offer more powerful timing and branching controls
✔ Reduce clicks and streamline setup
✔ Support advanced workflows without added complexity
