Note: Lofty is rolling out in stages. Depending on the version your account is on, some features or screens described in this article may look different or may not yet be available to you.
Introduction
Lofty's Home Valuation feature captures seller leads by offering a free, instant property value estimate. Visitors enter their home address, provide their contact information, and receive an estimated home value — becoming a lead in your CRM in the process.
You can add this feature to your website in two ways:
- Home Valuation Block — Embeds the valuation tool on any page (useful for Home pages, CTA sections, or landing pages)
- Home Valuation Page — A dedicated full page built specifically for the valuation experience
Both use the same underlying 3-step flow and the same data source.
How the Home Valuation Flow Works
Regardless of whether you use the Block or Page, the visitor experience has three steps:
- Step 1 — Address entry. The visitor types their property address. Google address suggestions appear as they type.
- Step 2 — Contact information. The visitor provides their name, email, and phone to receive their estimate. This creates or updates their lead record in your CRM.
- Step 3 — Home value estimate. The estimated value is shown on-screen and emailed to the visitor.
Home Evaluation Email Report includes: - Estimated home value - Estimated high value - Estimated low value - Price change in the last 30 days
Data source: Lofty uses Bridge API (a company owned by Zillow) to generate the estimated value. The report is automated — it cannot be manually edited.
Part 1: Home Valuation Block
Adding the Block
- Open the Website CMS (from Lofty top nav: Content > Websites, then click your site).
- Select the page you want to edit.
- Click Blocks in the left navigation.
- Find the Home Evaluation block type and choose one of the two available styles.
- Drag the block to the position you want on the page.
Configuring the Block
Double-click the block or click the Edit icon to open the settings panel.
Step 1 settings (address entry): - Title and Description — The heading and text shown above the address field - Background Image — Upload one image or multiple images (slideshow) as the background - Button Text — The label on the "Next" button - Search Box Border Color — The color of the border around the address input - Placeholder Text — Default text inside the address box (default: "Enter your street address")
Step 2 settings (contact information): - Title and Description — Heading and supporting text on the right side of step 2 - Name Format — Choose Full Name or First and Last Name fields - Name required — Set name as required or optional - Phone required — Set phone as required or optional - Assign Agent — Assign an active agent from your roster to receive these leads - "Next" button color — Adjust the button color for step 2
Note: Email is required and cannot be made optional.
Step 3 settings (value estimate): - Background Color — The color of the estimate results screen - Auto Home Valuation — Toggle whether to show the automated estimate: - Yes — The visitor sees the estimated value immediately after completing step 2 - No — The visitor sees a message telling them an agent will reach out with an estimate, rather than an automated one
When to use "No": If the Bridge API estimate for your market area is often inaccurate, setting this to "No" prevents leads from seeing a value that might not reflect reality. You then follow up personally with a more accurate CMA-based estimate.
Part 2: Home Valuation Page
A Home Valuation Page is a dedicated full page on your website with the valuation experience built in. One is already included on your site by default.
Adding an Additional Home Valuation Page
You can add more than one Home Valuation Page — useful for area-specific landing pages or A/B testing different configurations.
- In the page editor, click Pages in the left navigation.
- Click + Add Page.
- Select Home Evaluation from the page template list.
- Choose your preferred style and click Next.
- Configure page settings (name, URL) and save.
Recommended page style for conversion: When adding a Home Valuation Page for marketing campaigns, set the Page Style to "With simple header" or "No header". This removes the full navigation menu, keeping visitors focused on the valuation form rather than browsing away.
Page Content and Settings
The Home Valuation Page uses the same Home Valuation Block for its core content. Refer to the block configuration above to adjust the form's appearance and behavior.
For page-level SEO settings (meta title, meta description), see [Adding and Managing Website Pages].
Canadian Addresses
If a visitor submits a Canadian property address, the automated estimate will not be provided. Instead, the visitor sees a message informing them that an agent will reach out with an estimate.
Their address and contact information are still captured in your CRM so you can follow up with a manual valuation.
Tips
- Recommend the CMA tool for serious seller follow-up. The automated estimate is a conversation starter, not a final valuation. Use Lofty's CMA tool to provide a professional, customized report during your follow-up. See [How to Create a CMA and Listing Presentation].
- Set Auto Home Valuation to "No" in volatile or niche markets. In markets where automated AVM data is unreliable (rural areas, unique properties, markets with few comparables), showing an inaccurate estimate can damage trust.
- Promote your Home Valuation Page in marketing. A dedicated HV page with a simple header is ideal for Facebook and Google ads — it removes distractions and focuses the visitor on the one action you want.
- Pair with a Smart Plan. When a lead comes in via Home Valuation, automatically enroll them in a seller-focused Smart Plan to start the nurture sequence.
Troubleshooting
The home value estimate isn't appearing for certain addresses. Bridge API coverage varies. If an address returns no data, the system may default to showing the "agent will reach out" message even if Auto Home Valuation is set to "Yes." This is by design.
A lead submitted a Canadian address but I didn't receive their contact info. The lead is captured in your CRM regardless of whether an estimate was provided. Check your lead list in the CRM and filter by recent additions.
I want to use a different data source for home values. Lofty uses Bridge API (Zillow) exclusively for automated estimates. For customized estimates, use the CMA tool and share the report with leads directly.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many Home Valuation Pages can I have? As many as you need. There is no limit to the number you can add.
Can I turn off the Home Valuation feature entirely? Yes. Remove the Home Valuation Block from any page where it appears, and move the Home Valuation Page to Hidden Navigation. This effectively removes it from visitor-facing navigation while keeping the page intact.
What lead type is assigned to Home Valuation leads?
Is the Home Valuation feature available on all website packages?
