Note: Lofty is rolling out in stages. Depending on the version your account is on, some features or screens described in this article may look different or may not yet be available to you.
Introduction
The Form Block embeds a lead capture form on any page of your website. Unlike the global registration pop-up, Form Blocks give you precise control over where forms appear, what fields they include, and how leads are categorized in your CRM.
Use Form Blocks on contact pages, seller landing pages, open house pages, or anywhere you want a specific, purpose-built form.
Adding the Form Block
- Open the Website CMS (from Lofty top nav: Content > Websites, then click your site).
- Select the page you want to edit.
- Click Blocks in the left navigation.
- Find the Form block type, choose your preferred style, and drag it to the position you want.
Form Types
When you add the Form Block, choose one of three form types based on your goal:
Contact Form
The standard contact form for general inquiries. Displays the agent's profile (photo, name, contact info) alongside the form fields.
Sell Form
Designed for seller leads. When submitted, it signals to you (and the CRM) that the visitor is interested in selling their home. The form layout is optimized for seller lead capture.
Other Form
A simple form without agent info displayed. Use this for general inquiries, event registrations, or any purpose where you want a clean form without the agent profile sidebar.
Form Settings
Double-click the block or click the Edit icon to open the settings panel.
Lead Type
Choose how new leads submitted through this form will be categorized in the CRM:
- Buyer
- Seller
- Renter
- Investor
- Agent
- Homeowner
- Landlord
- Other
Agent Type Leads: When the lead type is set to Agent, visitors can submit the form without registering on the site — their message still appears in the CRM. This is useful for a careers or recruiting page where you want applicants to reach out without requiring them to create an account. When Agent-type visitors try to use features requiring login (like saving searches), they'll be prompted to register at that point.
Tag
Apply one or more tags to any lead who submits this form. Tags are added automatically when the form is submitted — useful for segmentation, filtering, and Smart Plan enrollment.
Note: Tags work for existing leads too. If a registered lead submits this form, the tags are added to their existing CRM profile.
Form Questions
You can fully customize the fields that appear on the form. There is no limit to the number of questions you can add.
All form responses are saved to the lead's profile in the CRM, and you will receive an email notification when the form is submitted.
Built-In Fields (add each once)
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Always required — cannot be made optional | |
| Name | Choose Full Name or First + Last Name format. Set as required or optional |
| Phone | Can be set as required or optional |
| Address | Choose Individual Address (single field with Google suggestions) or Full Address (4 separate fields: Street, City, State, Zip). If submitted, a property is created on the lead's CRM profile |
| Message | Customizable field label. If submitted, creates a "left a message" log on the lead's CRM timeline and sends you a notification |
| Date | Calendar date picker. Customizable label. Submitted date is saved as a note on the lead's CRM profile |
Additional Fields (can add multiple)
| Field | Notes |
|---|---|
| Single Line Text | A short custom text field — name it whatever fits your use case |
| Paragraph Text | A larger text area for longer responses. Can be set required or optional |
Button Action
After a visitor submits the form, choose what happens next:
- Thank You Message — A custom message appears to the visitor on the page confirming their submission
-
URL Redirect — The visitor is sent to a specific page after submission. Use relative paths for internal pages (e.g.,
/thank-you) or full URLs for external pages
After configuring, click Publish to go live.
Tips
- Match the form type to the page purpose. A Sell Form on a home valuation page, a Contact Form on your Contact page, and an Other Form on an event registration page — the form type affects how leads are categorized and how the layout looks.
- Use tags to trigger Smart Plans automatically. Set a tag on your Form Block and build a Smart Plan that enrolls any lead with that tag — your follow-up starts the moment they submit.
- Keep forms short. Only ask for what you genuinely need. Each additional required field reduces submission rates.
- Use the Address field for seller lead pages. When a visitor submits an address, Lofty creates a property record on their CRM profile — giving you the property info you need before even calling them.
Troubleshooting
Form submissions aren't appearing in my CRM. Confirm the form block is published on your live site. Check the lead's profile in the CRM — forms create leads under their email address. If the visitor was already a lead, their profile was updated rather than a new one created.
I want to redirect visitors to a thank-you page after submission. Use the URL Redirect option in the Button settings. Create a simple thank-you page in your CMS and enter its path (e.g., /thank-you) as the redirect URL.
I can't find the Message field in my form settings. The Message field is a Built-In field — it can only be added once per form. Check if it's already added to the form; if so, you'll need to configure it rather than add another one.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I add the Form Block to a landing page? Yes. The Form Block works on any page including landing pages. It's one of the most effective tools for landing page lead capture because it's customizable and directly integrated with the CRM.
What happens if an existing lead submits the form? The submission is matched to their existing CRM profile by email address. Their profile is updated with any new data, tags are applied, and a message log is created if the Message field was used.
Can I use multiple Form Blocks on the same page? Yes. You can add as many Form Block instances as you need on a single page, each with different configurations, lead types, and questions.
