Note: Lofty is rolling out in stages. Depending on the version your account is on, some features or screens described in this article may look different or may not yet be available to you.
Introduction
The Lofty Website CMS (Content Management System) is where you build and manage your IDX website. It lives at cms.lofty.com and opens automatically when you click into your site from the Lofty platform.
The Overview page is your CMS home screen. It gives you a snapshot of your site at a glance and is your starting point for every change you make — from editing a page to adjusting your SEO settings.
Before You Begin
Permissions required:
| Role | What you can access |
|---|---|
| Company Owner / Admin | All company, team, office, and agent websites |
| Team Owner / Admin | The Team site and all agent sites beneath it |
| Office Owner / Admin | The Office site and all agent sites beneath it |
| Agent | Your own agent website only |
Before you can open the CMS, your website must have been created. If you haven't set one up yet, see [How to Create Your Website with the Website Building Agent].
How to Open the Website CMS
- Log in to your Lofty account.
- In the Lofty left navigation, click Website.
- You will land on the Site List — a list of every website you have access to based on your role. Company Owners and Admins see all sites; Team and Office Owners see only the sites within their level.
- Click the website you want to manage.
- The CMS editor opens at cms.lofty.com/cmsnew/overview.
Tip: If you manage more than one website — for example, a company site and several agent sites — each site has its own CMS. Switch between them by returning to the Site List at any time.
The CMS Overview Page
When you open a site, you land on the Overview page.
From the Overview, you can see your site's current status and navigate to any section of the CMS using the left navigation menu.
What You Can Manage in the CMS
The left navigation menu gives you access to every part of your website. Here is what each section does:
| CMS Section | What you can manage |
|---|---|
| Pages | Add, edit, and organize your website pages |
| Blog | Create and publish blog posts |
| Templates | Choose or switch your website design template and theme |
| SEO | Set meta tags, review your SEO score, and connect Google Search Console |
| Domain | Connect or purchase a custom domain |
| Lead Conversion | Configure your registration pop-up, contact forms, home valuation tools, and webchat |
| Listings | Set listing filters, customize search pages, and manage IDX settings |
| Reporting | View your Site Report — visitors, page views, and lead captures |
| Settings | Manage site-wide settings, integrations, compliance tools, and team access |
Note: The sections available depend on your website type and package. Agents on a basic Agent Website have access to fewer settings than owners of a Full SEO site. See [Understanding Your Website Package] below.
Understanding Your Website Package
When you are on the Site List, each website shows its package type. Your package determines how much you can customize your site and whether you need to apply for your own MLS connection.
The three website packages
Agent Website — Included at no extra charge with every Lofty user account (except the Company Owner). An Agent Website is a copy of the parent company, team, or office site. It uses a subdomain address (for example, *firstname.companyname.com*), has limited customization options, and inherits its listing feed from the site above it. No separate MLS application is required.
Vanity Domain Website — $20/month. Adds a custom domain (for example, *yourname.com*) and unlocks the ability to edit navigation, add custom pages, and personalize your template. Listing data is still inherited from the parent site.
Full SEO Website — $79/month. The full package. You can completely customize your site, add a blog, create featured area pages, run your own SEO strategy, and inject custom scripts. A separate MLS application is required to connect your own listing feed.
Hyperlocal Website — Premium package. An AI-powered, done-for-you website built specifically around your farm areas. Includes neighborhood pages, an interactive click map, and four SEO-optimized blog posts. Lofty's team handles the setup with you directly. See [Hyperlocal Website] for full details.
Quick comparison
| Agent Website | Vanity Domain | Full SEO | Hyperlocal | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Cost | Included | $20/mo | $79/mo | Premium |
| Custom domain | No | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Customization | Limited | Moderate | Full | Done for you |
| MLS application | Not required | Not required | Required | Required |
| SEO tools | Minimal | Basic | Advanced | AI-generated |
How to purchase a package
In your Lofty account, go to Marketplace > Branding and Marketing. You will see the Vanity Domain Website, Full SEO Website, and Hyperlocal Website packages listed there. If you are a Company Owner or Admin, you can purchase a package on behalf of any agent or team member.
Tips
- Start with your template. If you are setting up your site for the first time, go to Templates before building out your pages. Choosing your design first saves time later.
- Agent sites inherit from their parent. Settings like global listing filters and MLS data are managed at the Company, Team, or Office site level — not at the agent site level. If a setting is unavailable on your agent site, it is likely controlled by your admin.
- Check your package if something is missing. If a section or feature appears grayed out, it may require an upgraded package. Visit Marketplace to see your options.
-
Your site URL. You can find and open your live website from the Site List at any time. Look for the View Site link next to your website name.
Troubleshooting
I clicked "Websites" but my site doesn't appear in the Site List. Your role may not include access to that site. Agents see only their own site; Admins see all sites within their level. If your site was recently created, try refreshing the page. If the site still doesn't appear, contact your Company Owner or Lofty Support.
The CMS opened but the page didn't load properly. Refresh your browser (Ctrl + R on Windows, Cmd + R on Mac). If that doesn't fix it, clear your browser cache and try again in Chrome, which is the recommended browser for the Lofty CMS.
I can see my site in the Site List but can't edit it. You may have view-only permissions. Contact your Company Owner or Admin to request editor access. Some editing features also require a Vanity Domain or Full SEO package.
My site shows as unpublished. Your website is in draft mode and is not yet visible to visitors. When you're ready to go live, publish your site from the CMS.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Website CMS the same as the Lofty CRM? No. The CRM (where you manage leads, contacts, and communications) and the Website CMS (where you manage your IDX website) are separate tools. You access the CMS through the Lofty platform, but it runs in its own environment at cms.lofty.com.
Can I have more than one website? Yes. Company, Team, and Office Owners can manage multiple sites. Individual agents can purchase additional websites through the Marketplace if they want separate branding or serve multiple markets.
What is the difference between a Vanity Domain and a Full SEO website? A Vanity Domain package gives you a custom web address like *yourname.com* and moderate editing access. A Full SEO package gives you complete content control, advanced SEO tools, a blog, and your own MLS listing feed — plus the custom domain. If you want the full package, choose Full SEO.
I'm an agent. Can I edit my website myself? Yes, within the limits of your package. Agent Websites have a simplified editing experience. Some settings — like global listing filters — are managed by your admin at the company or team level. If a feature is grayed out, check with your admin or consider upgrading your package.
Who do I contact if I need help with my website? Reach Lofty Support by email at support@lofty.com, by phone at 1 (855) 981-7557, or via live chat in your Lofty CRM.
