Note: Lofty is rolling out in stages. Depending on the version your account is on, some features or screens described in this article may look different or may not yet be available to you.
Introduction
Every property on your website has its own Property Detail Page — the page visitors land on when they click a listing. Lofty automatically generates these pages from your MLS data, and you can customize their layout, the information displayed, and how visitors interact with them.
There are two types of property detail pages:
- Property Detail — for active (not yet sold) listings
- Sold Property Detail — for sold listings (when MLS provides sold data)
Both types can be customized independently.
How to Access Property Detail Page Settings
Property Detail Pages are a Page Group in your CMS. To edit them:
- Open the Website CMS (Content > Websites, then click your site).
- Click Pages in the left navigation.
- Find and click on the Property Detail or Sold Property Detail page group.
Important Limitations
⚠️ Changes affect all listing detail pages. Property Detail Pages are a Page Group — any block you add, remove, or configure applies to every individual listing detail page, not just one. You cannot customize individual listing pages here. If you need a custom page for a specific listing, build a dedicated landing page for that property.
- Existing blocks on the Property Detail page cannot be deleted or hidden.
- Blocks can be reordered by drag-and-drop.
- You can add new blocks to the page, but remember those blocks will appear on every listing detail page.
- The preview area in the CMS editor shows demo data — view the live site to see actual listing data.
The Default Blocks
Property Detail Pages are built from these blocks:
| Block | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Detail Info | The listing's main information — photos, price, address, beds/baths, description, and agent contact |
| Nearby Schools & Properties (Map) | An interactive map showing the property location, nearby schools, and surrounding properties |
| Market Trends | Local market trend data (title editable; data from MLS/third party) |
| Demographics | Neighborhood demographic data (title editable; data from third party) |
| Similar Homes | Related listings based on the property's characteristics (title editable; data from MLS) |
| Form | A lead capture form for visitors to contact you or request a tour |
| CTA | A call-to-action section |
Editing the Detail Info Block
The Detail Info block is the most important and customizable block on the property detail page. To edit it, double-click the block or click its Edit icon.
Style Click Change Style to select a different layout for the listing detail information.
Auto-expand Listing Details Toggle on to automatically expand the full listing description and details when a visitor loads the page. When off, visitors click to expand.
Displayed Agent Configure which agent's information appears on the listing detail page. Three fields control this: - Priority Show Listing Agent — When enabled, if the listing agent is a Lofty team member and it's their listing, their information displays instead of the default agent. This affects only the visual display of agent info, not where leads are routed. Lead routing is configured separately via [Agent Lead Routing Rules]. - This setting uses the MLS Agent ID stored in each user's Lofty profile settings.
Side CTA (Call to Action) Adjust the CTA button or section that appears alongside the listing details — link it to a specific page, form, or action.
Registration Trigger Settings Configure whether and when the registration pop-up appears when a visitor views this listing detail page. You can set different trigger behaviors for property detail pages than your site's global pop-up settings.
Editing Other Blocks
Nearby Schools & Properties (Map): Edit the title and the "nearby" radius or categories displayed.
Market Trends, Demographics, Similar Homes: You can only edit the title of these blocks. The data itself is populated automatically from your MLS and third-party data providers — it cannot be manually edited.
Form and Quick Search: See [Form Block] and [Quick Search Block] for configuration details on these blocks.
The "Request a Tour" Link Anchor
You can link visitors directly to the Request a Tour section of any listing detail page by adding #schedule to the end of the listing URL.
Example: https://yoursite.com/listing/123-main-st#schedule
On desktop, this scrolls the page to the tour request section. On mobile, it opens a dedicated pop-up.
Use this in marketing emails, property alerts, or social media posts when you want to make it as easy as possible for a lead to schedule a showing.
Breadcrumb Navigation
Every property detail page automatically includes a breadcrumb at the top showing the property's location hierarchy:
Format: State > City > Subdivision *(Canada: Province > City > Subdivision)*
All breadcrumb data comes directly from the MLS — it's not manually configured. Visitors can click the City or Subdivision links to find other listings in the same area without going back to the search page.
Note: The State level is currently not clickable.
This breadcrumb improves both site usability and SEO by creating linked location pages across your site.
Tips
- Reorder blocks to match your visitors' decision-making flow. Most visitors want photos → price → description → form. Put the Detail Info block first and the Form close to it.
- Enable Auto-expand Listing Details if your MLS descriptions are short. If descriptions are long, leave it collapsed so the page doesn't feel overwhelming.
- Use Priority Show Listing Agent if agents on your team list properties — it makes the listing feel personally owned rather than generic.
- Add the #schedule anchor to your property alert emails. When leads click a listing in an alert, sending them directly to the tour request section dramatically increases showing requests.
Troubleshooting
I added a block to the property detail page but I only want it on some listings. This is not possible with the Property Detail page group — any block added applies to all listing detail pages. For a listing-specific page, build a dedicated landing page for that property using the Blank page template.
The agent shown on the listing detail page is wrong. Check the Displayed Agent settings in the Detail Info block. If Priority Show Listing Agent is on, it's using MLS Agent ID data from the user's Lofty profile. Verify that MLS Agent IDs are correctly set in each agent's profile settings.
Market Trends or Demographics data looks inaccurate. This data comes from the MLS and third-party providers — it is not manually editable. If the data appears significantly wrong for your market, contact Lofty Support.
